Dell unveils OptiPlex 7090 Ultra – Intel Tiger Lake computer that integrates into the monitor leg

For the exhibition of consumer electronics CES 2021, which will be held in digital format on January 11-14, the American manufacturer Dell has prepared an updated version of the OptiPlex module built into monitors. The new model is called the OptiPlex 7090 Ultra and will replace the OptiPlex 7070 Ultra and offer the latest generation of components.

At the time of its release in 2019, the Dell OptiPlex 7070 Ultra was unique: a tiny desktop computer that fits into a monitor stand. And with the launch of the OptiPlex 7090 Ultra, Dell’s vision for eliminating one of the main drawbacks of all-in-ones – the lack of upgradeability – has finally come to fruition.

The OptiPlex 7090 Ultra can be configured with one of the 28W Tiger Lake processors: Intel Core i3-1115G4 (2 cores / 4 threads, 6MB cache, 3.0-4.1 GHz), Core i5-1145G7 (4 cores / 8 threads, 8 MB cache, 2.6-4.4 GHz, vPro) or Core i7-1185G7 (4 cores / 8 threads, 12 MB cache, 3.0-4.8 GHz, vPro). The first uses Intel UHD graphics, and the two older models use Iris Xe Graphics.

The amount of DDR4-3200 RAM can be up to 64 GB. The drive is a 2.5 “hard drive with a volume of 1 TB (7200 rpm), or SSD in M.2 2280 format (up to 1 TB PCIe x4 NVMe).

Communications include a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port (10 Gbps), a USB-C 4.0 port (with DisplayPort, Thunderbolt 4.0 support) and a 3.5mm headset jack the side. On the back of the device are two more USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port (with DisplayPort), one RJ45 Ethernet network port, DisplayPort 1.4, and power input. Also includes a Kensington lock.

Dell OptiPlex 7090 Ultra will go on sale on January 28, 2021, starting at $ 769. Includes a dedicated stand compatible with a range of Dell monitors and many third-party 19 “to 27” VESA mounts. Surely there will be offers without a stand for those who already have one.
