DJI launches Agras T20 drone with 20L tank and all-round radar
Chinese DJI unveiled the Agras T20 agricultural drone to the world, equipped with a 20-liter tank, improved spraying capabilities for chemicals and other liquids, and an omnidirectional radar for 360-degree 3D scanning. The Agras T20 appears to be on offer in some Asian markets already.
According to the manufacturer, this drone is capable of carrying up to 20 liters of liquid in its tank and processing up to 12 hectares of area per hour. The T20 is equipped with a four-way solenoid flow regulator that allows independent adjustment of the flow of each nozzle.
Omnidirectional digital radar allows the drone to recreate the environment around it, understanding where obstacles are in order to avoid them on its own even in poor visibility. The drone is also equipped with a spotlight to see its surroundings at night.
The Agras T20 comes with the same controller that was released with the Matrice 300 RTK. It is equipped with a super-bright display and a battery that can be replaced while working. The controller also has the ability to install a 4G SIM card and RTK support for more reliable communication with the drone and accurate positioning.
DJI has equipped the T20 with a system that spreads fertilizer, seed, and feed for fish and shrimp used in rice paddies at up to 10 kg per minute. The spraying system is 20% more efficient and covers an area of 7m in diameter. The drone has an IP67 rating, which means that after use it can be completely washed before being folded for storage. The manufacturer also noted that this device is much more compact when folded than the T16.
When used with data collected with the DJI Phantom 4 Multispectral, the DJI Agras T20 can spray different amounts of liquid based on the need for spraying on different areas, resulting in more efficient and intelligent operation. As usual, the price is not named: it depends too much on the body kit and other parameters, but you should not rely on availability – this is a specialized professional tool.
