DualSense controller not supported on PlayStation 4, but works with PS3 and Nintendo Switch

Bloggers have tested the operation of the DualSense controller (for the PlayStation 5) with the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. As it turned out, the gamepad does not work with the latter but functions on the first two with almost no problems.

Twitter user BrokenGamezHDR connected a DualSense controller to a Nintendo Switch game console using a third-party 8bitdo adapter. And it works successfully, as you can see in the video below.

YouTube user MidnightMan also tested the DualSense controller’s functionality with the PlayStation 3. The console detected the controller as a regular Bluetooth controller. With it, the blogger managed the system menu.

But with the PlayStation 4, the new gamepad refused to work. It is not recognized via the cable. When paired using Bluetooth, DualSense is perceived by the console as a valid device and appears as a “Wireless Controller” but does not respond to button presses.

PlayStation 5 will be released on November 19. At the same time, accessories for the console will also go on sale, including the DualSense controller.
