EKWB reveals waterblocks for AMD Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards and Ryzen 5000 processors

AMD Chief Gaming Architect Frank Azor announced yesterday that AMD is working closely with partners to provide compatible end-to-end cooling solutions for the upcoming next-generation AMD ecosystem.

EK Water Blocks (EKWB) is already developing liquid cooling solutions for the new AMD ecosystem. The manufacturer showcased the first design-optimized liquid cooling solutions for the Ryzen 5000 series and the Radeon RX 6000 ecosystem.

AMD will release both Zen 3 processors and RDNA 2 GPUs this month. Ecosystems with both architectures will benefit from technologies such as PCI Express 4.0 and AMD Smart Access Memory, the latter allowing the Ryzen 5000 series processor to have more direct access to all 16GB of Radeon RX 6000 series GDDR6 video memory.

All three Navi 21 graphics cards announced yesterday will share a similar board design, so any third-party cooling solution that targets one model should work for the others as well. Unsurprisingly, the EK water block shown here is compatible with the Radeon RX 6900 XT (300W), RX 6800 XT (300W), and RX 6800 (250W).

EK has yet to confirm when the new products will be available. The AMD Ryzen 5000 processor series will launch on November 5, and the AMD Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards will officially hit the market on November 18.
