Encrypted messages coming to Twitter today
Twitter CEO Elon Musk has revealed details about new features coming to the social network, including the addition of calls and encrypted messages.
Last year, Musk announced plans to release Twitter 2.0 The Everything App, which he says will include features such as encrypted direct messages, long tweets and payments.
“There will soon be voice and video chat from your name to anyone on this platform, so you can communicate with people anywhere in the world without giving them your phone number,” Elon Musk wrote on his page.

The Twitter calling feature will bring the microblogging platform in line with other social media apps with similar features.
Musk said a version of the encrypted direct messages would be available on Twitter starting Wednesday, May 10, but didn’t say if the calls would be encrypted.
Twitter said this week that it will begin a cleanup process, deleting and archiving accounts that have been inactive for several years.
