This is the third SpaceX Starship
The third prototype of SpaceX Starship exploded during another “pressure test”. This time, presumably, the problem was a “test configuration error”. So said Elon Musk, but it is unclear what exactly he had in mind.
The video clearly shows that at least an hour and a half after the start of the test, the hull of the ship was first deformed, and then the installation exploded, falling apart in half.
Recall that the first prototype Starship exploded in November, the second – at the end of February. How many more prototypes will be destroyed by the time the ship is ready is still unclear. Initially, the Starship prototype was introduced in September last year with the promise of putting it into orbit within six months. As you can see, the indicated period has already expired, and there is no understanding yet whether SpaceX will cope at least until the end of the year.
