Eurocom Unveils Sky Z7 R2 Laptop Powered By Rocket Lake Desktop Processor
Eurocom has announced a powerful laptop Sky Z7 R2 on the Intel hardware platform: sales of the novelty, which the developer calls a mobile supercomputer, will begin on May 1.
The laptop is equipped with a 17.3-inch display: it is possible to install a Full HD panel (1920 × 1080 pixels) with a refresh rate of 300 Hz or 4K (3840 × 2160 pixels) with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. For the graphics subsystem, a choice of discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, 3070, and 3060 accelerators is available.
The basis of the mobile supercomputer is a motherboard based on the Intel Z590 chipset. It is allowed to install the eleventh generation Intel Core (Rocket Lake) processor in the LGA 1200 version – for example, a Core i9-11900K chip. The amount of DDR4 RAM can be up to 128 GB.
The manufacturer claims that the Sky Z7 R2 is the world’s first laptop with PCIe 4.0 support. The corresponding connection interface uses one of the M.2 2280 NVMe solid-state drives. In addition, three M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4 modules can be installed. The storage capacity can be up to 32 TB.
The equipment includes a 2.5Gb LAN Killer E3000 network controller, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 adapters, a MicroSD slot, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Type-A, miniDP 1.4, HDMI 2.0, etc.
