Facebook has begun integrating Reels short video service into its mainstream social network. While in test mode

Facebook has allowed some Instagram users to share videos from the Reels service on the main social network. Bloomberg writes about it. So far, the feature has been launched in test mode in the Indian market.

Trial testing is being conducted among Indian users of both platforms. Now, some of them will be able to post music and AR effects videos to Facebook. The option is designed to help content creators with promotion and audience reach. In the main social network, the service will be called “Reels on Facebook.”

According to The Economic Times, the company took this step due to short videos in India and other markets. Content will be displayed based on the relevance of the content to specific users.

The Reels service is analogous to TikTok. It allows you to record videos up to 15 seconds long with music and various visual effects. The function has been available since August 2020 to Instagram users in 50 countries, including Russia, but citizens of the latter cannot listen to music in videos due to copyright issues.
