A hearing in the Epic Games and Apple case is scheduled for May 3, 2021. Facebook privacy director Steve Satterfield said it was important that the court “understands the consequences of Apple’s unfair policies

Earlier Facebook began to publicly criticize Apple. The reason was the change in privacy rules that limit the ability of third-party services to collect user data. The companies then accused each other of using user information for their own benefit. Apple criticized the social network for collecting data and transferring it to third parties. The second responded by accusing the platform holder of violating antitrust laws and using a dominant position to independently collect information.

After that, Facebook lashed out with criticism of Apple services. On December 16, the company spoke out against the new privacy rules in iOS, claiming they harm small businesses. In response, the technology manufacturer said that users have the right to track what data is collected about them.

On December 17, BuzzFeed editor John Paczkowski posted part of the next Facebook letter criticizing the platform-holder, where the social network claims it is seeking to protect small businesses.
