GeForce RTX 3080 defeats RTX 2080 Ti in Ashes of the Singularity gaming test. And that’s without RTX

The notorious Twitter user @_rogame discovered information about the performance of the GeForce RTX 3080 graphics accelerator in the game Ashes of the Singularity. It is likely that at the time of this writing, the video card is being checked by one of the reviewers.

To recap, the GeForce RTX 3080 GPU has 8704 CUDA cores. The card is equipped with 10 GB of GDDR6X video memory. If you believe NVIDIA’s advertising statements, the new product is faster than the current flagship of the GeForce RTX 20 series, the RTX 2080 Ti model.

It should be noted right away that the performance test of the GeForce RTX 3080 was carried out using the DirectX 12 API, which is not very popular among reviewers in this game. Therefore, the result obtained is difficult to compare with others. Unfortunately, the test also does not show the GPU frequency of the video card under test. At the moment, it is impossible to say whether the tests were carried out with the participation of the video card with the reference values of the operating frequency or it has undergone factory/manual overclocking.

According to the screenshot, the test was performed on a system with a Core i9-9900K processor, at 4K resolution and “Crazy” graphics settings. The average frame rate for the GeForce RTX 3080 was 88.3. The rest of the results can be found below.

Resource VideoCardz decided to take into account the frequency of the reference model RTX 3080 (GPU 1440/1710 MHz) and compare them with the median (cumulative average) performance of other models of graphics cards. This is not the best way to directly compare the performance of a particular video card, but at the moment it is the most affordable option available. The results look like this:
