It turned out that yesterday Gigabyte released its first GeForce RTX 3080 from the Aorus family to the market. The novelty went on sale in the NewEgg store, but after 10 minutes the stock was exhausted.
There is an assumption that those who purchased the cards for resale were to blame. Firstly, the adapters immediately appeared on eBay at a price of $ 2,000 and more, and secondly, and this could be the reason for the above, the NewEgg system, which was supposed to track every order to prevent speculators from buying cards, did not work. Perhaps, if this had not happened, the batch of RTX 3080 would have been sold out not in 10 minutes, but in half an hour or an hour. But not a fact.
Interestingly, the manager of Gigabyte noted that the new batch of adapters will arrive in the stores of the EU countries on October 10, but this batch will probably also be small.
