Ghost of Tsushima Reaches 5M, and God of War Sells 51M

The New York Times portal, citing data from Sony Interactive Entertainment, reported the latest information on sales of the samurai thriller Ghost of Tsushima and the God of War series games.

In his microblog, New York Times author Seth Schiesel clarified that the figures below were provided to the publication directly by Sony Interactive Entertainment, and therefore cannot be doubted.

More than 5 million copies of Ghost of Tsushima have been sold worldwide since the release, according to the New York Times’ PlayStation 5 launch story.

Recall that until recently, the only known thing about the sales of Ghost of Tsushima was that the game set a record for Sony Interactive Entertainment projects for new intellectual property –  2.4 million copies in three days.

As for the God of War, the sales of games in this series of slashers to date have exceeded 51 million copies. According to unofficial information, in May 2019, this figure was 11 million more modest.

Most likely, the greatest contribution to reaching a new peak over the past year and a half has been made by God of War (2018), whose sales have crossed the 10 million mark by May 2019.

God of War (2018) and Ghost of Tsushima are full-fledged PlayStation 4 exclusives. The sequel to the first has already been confirmed, and rumors are just beginning to circulate about a possible continuation of the second.
