Google disables Now Launcher: users are automatically transferred to the new service

Recall that the Google Now Launcher debuted in 2013 simultaneously with the Nexus 5 smartphone. It was replaced by the Pixel Launcher with the launch of a new line of Google branded smartphones in 2016.

Google has given users of the 10-year-old Now Launcher a few weeks to come to terms with the idea of switching to more modern Google software or an alternative launcher.

According to Google’s note, if the user does nothing, the phone will automatically switch to the new default launcher.
