Google launches branded VPN service for Android

Google has introduced a new product designed to increase the anonymity of web users. The company announced that Google One’s new VPN service for Android will soon be available in the US and several other countries. In a blog post, the search giant announced that it is introducing a free VPN service for Google One users subscribed to plans with at least 2TB of cloud storage.

The service is said to encrypt and protect all Internet traffic regardless of the browser or application used. However, for it to work, you need to have the Google One application installed and the corresponding subscription. In order to activate the new feature, users will need to go to VPN in the Home section of the Google One application, and then activate the service. In addition, when sharing a subscription with the family, family members will be able to use the VPN at no additional cost.

The new service is currently only available for Android, but iOS, macOS and Windows users will be able to try it out in the coming months. In the coming weeks, users from the United States will receive access to it, and then residents of other countries, the list of which has not yet been published, will join them. Recall that the cost of a Google One subscription with 2 TB of cloud storage is $ 99.99 per year or $ 9.99 per month.
