Google Assistant Pilot Project Already Launched

Google has launched testing a new feature of its Google Assistant voice assistant in the form of a pilot program available to a small number of users.

Google tests purchases with simple voice payment confirmation

A company spokesperson confirmed to AndroidPolice that this is a new feature designed to help make secure purchases with smart speakers and displays. Currently, this method is limited for in-app purchases through Google Play, as well as for orders in restaurants.

The official Google Assistant Support page describes how to activate the Voice Match feature in Voice Assistant. With its help, you can make purchases, passing verification and confirming payment only with the help of voice. Previously, such confirmation could be given with a fingerprint or with face recognition.

One smart speaker will be able to recognize the voices of multiple users and allow them to make purchases using Voice Match.
