Google Unveils Entertainment Space App That Will Collect Videos, Games And Books In One Place On Your Tablet

Recently, the demand for tablets has grown by 30%. To support this segment of the market and make these mobile computers more intuitive, Google has developed a special application. It will help users determine their desires and simplify interaction with a mobile device.

Google today announced Entertainment Space for tablets that run Android. It is an aggregator application that acts as a sandbox for tablets and combines videos, games, and books into a single multimedia hub.

The content in the app is divided into three parts: viewing, entertainment, and books. In the “View” section, the user will find their favorite shows, films, and documentaries that can be watched both on the tablet itself and on the TV using Chromecast.

Moving to the “Games” section, the user will continue to have fun in their favorite platformer or will be able to get acquainted with new projects in the Instant Play mode – when games are launched instantly without downloading and installing into the device’s memory.

The last section is intended for reading books and magazines, as well as listening to audio materials. The app automatically downloads content from Google Books, so all content is available as part of a subscription.

The new platform simplifies the interaction with content and allows multiple users to work on the same device. To do this, everyone must have their own account, upon authorization through which the sandbox participant gets access only to their settings and their content.

Currently, Entertainment Space support has been announced on a limited number of devices, including new Walmart devices and tablets from manufacturers such as Lenovo and Sharp. The platform is expected to appear in tablets from other manufacturers only after some time – the application is part of the standard Android launcher, so the introduction of software into vendor devices may be delayed.

Last summer, Google introduced a similar service, the Kids Space portal with parental controls. It contains safe content, is adapted for children, and guarantees the quality of filtering unwanted information at the system level. Google believes in the tablet market, so it is trying to pay more attention to the usability of such devices and the “adult” version of Android.
