This is a processor codenamed Whitechapel. It is being designed by Google specialists in collaboration with Samsung. It is this South Korean giant that will later be engaged in the production of a product for which a 5-nanometer manufacturing technology is provided.

It is noted that recently Google received working samples of Whitechapel. The architecture of the chip assumes the presence of eight ARM computing cores, as well as specialized tools optimized for Google machine learning tools.

A separate processor node will be responsible for the operation of the intelligent Google Assistant in the always-on mode. Obviously, the chip will include a productive graphics accelerator and a cellular modem.

Launching its own processors will allow Google to reduce its dependence on third-party chip suppliers, in particular, Qualcomm. In addition, Google will be able to ensure the most efficient interaction of hardware and software parts of its devices.
