The Wind Down feature in the Digital Wellbeing app has been renamed Bedtime Mode. The mode offers a set of settings to make it easier to postpone your smartphone and go to sleep. It includes a “do not disturb” mode for alerts and a transition to a grayscale.
Bedtime Mode can now be configured to automatically turn on when the smartphone is charging. You can set the exact time interval when the “do not disturb” mode will automatically turn on when the smartphone is set to charge, so as not to miss important alerts during the day.
The Bedtime section also appeared in the Clock app. It offers several tools to improve sleep, as well as previews of tomorrow’s events from the calendar and recent activity during sleep time – how much the smartphone was on, and so on.
You can set a reminder that you will go to bed soon. Calming music from Calm, Spotify, and YouTube Music is available. The developers took care of a less shocking wake-up – the Sunrise Alarm mode gradually increases the brightness of the colors.
Finally, the Bedtime settings appeared in the Family Link app. Parents can set a schedule for going to bed on children’s devices for certain days and weekends. When the right hour arrives, the child’s device will automatically be blocked, only the call function will be saved.
