HP unveils 5G ZBook Firefly G8 laptops with Intel Tiger Lake processors

HP has announced the ZBook Firefly G8 portable computers that can be used as mobile workstations. Customers will be able to choose between options with the Windows 10 operating system and the FreeDOS 3.0 software platform.

The notebooks use a Tiger Lake generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor coupled with up to 64GB DDR4-3200 RAM. Responsible for data storage is a fast PCIe NVMe solid-state drive with a capacity of up to 512 GB.

ZBook Firefly G8 with 14- and 15.6-inch displays presented. In the first case, the resolution is Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels), in the second – Full HD or 4K (3840 × 2160 pixels). Versions with touch support will be available.

The arsenal of new products includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 adapters, an optional 5G module for working in fifth-generation cellular networks, a Band & Olufsen audio system with two speakers, a 720p webcam, etc.

For graphics processing, depending on the configuration, the Intel Iris Xe controller or the NVIDIA T500 accelerator is responsible. There is an HDMI interface for outputting images to an external monitor or TV. Also mentioned are two high-speed Thunderbolt 4 ports based on the USB Type-C connector.

The sales of new products will begin this month. HP will announce the price later.
