HTC to unveil Vive Focus 3 and Vive Pro 2 VR headsets next week
HTC is set to announce two new virtual reality headsets next week targeting the corporate segment. The Protocol portal reports it. We are talking about the standalone Vive Focus 3 headset and the Vive Pro 2 wired computer headset, presented during the Vivecon online event.
HTC has recently started to advertise the upcoming news on social media. The images show a part of the helmet, on the outer front side of which there are tracking cameras. The company accompanied one of the publications with the caption: “Are you ready to work in virtual reality?” … This indirectly hints that the devices will be targeted at the business segment of users. The manufacturer did not share any additional information on future products, and an HTC spokesman declined to comment with the protocol.
The resource still managed to find some data on VR-headsets Vive Focus 3 and Vive Pro 2. Information about the devices appeared in the Czech e-commerce store Alzashop. Soon, the pages of new products were removed from the site, but copies of them were saved in the Google cache. In particular, they indicate that the devices will go on sale on May 20. It also reports that the cost of the Vive Focus 3 will be 1,474 euros ($ 1,771), and the price of the Vive Pro 2 is € 842 ($ 1,012). The Czech retailer did not report any technical characteristics of the new products.
According to the source, HTC has long promised to release a standalone virtual reality headset this year. Earlier speculations would have been the Vive Air headset, for which HTC won the prestigious iF Design Award for Industrial design. However, the company’s advertising department quickly clarified that the device that took part in the competition is only a Concept and not a future serial product. At the same time, the company added that “the design of the Vive Air contains elements and ideas that can be seen in other HTC Products . “
