Huawei Releases EMUI 11 Beta Release Schedule. 37 Huawei and Honor Devices Will Receive It

Chinese tech giant Huawei hasn’t ranked high on the Counterpoint ranking, which shows how regularly companies update their smartphones. However, this may soon change. Wang Chengdu, president of Huawei’s software department, said the company is preparing to release EMUI 11 for 37 branded devices.

On October 10, the flagship series Huawei P40 and Mate 30 received a public beta version of the new proprietary shell. Today, ten more smartphones have joined the beta testing program, including Honor 30 and Huawei Nova 7. In addition, the company has published a list of devices that will update to EMUI 11, with release dates for beta versions of the firmware. The company’s main goal is to attract new users by showing them the benefits of the Huawei platform.

As a reminder, EMUI 11 was launched on September 10th. Although it is still based on Android 10, the shell contains a ton of visual changes and new features. In fact, it is a mixture of Android and Harmony OS as many components and technologies have been carried over from Huawei’s own OS.

Additionally, Chengdu hinted that this may be the latest version of EMUI before the company replaces it with Harmony OS. This is expected to happen as early as next year.
