According to the source, the Prime Z490-P is aimed at users with a limited budget. It is more modestly equipped and has a relatively simple power subsystem, as indicated by a small radiator on the voltage regulators. The board features two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, four PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, and two M.2 slots.
The Z490-A model features the massive radiator on the voltage regulators and a casing covering the area of the I / O panel. A radiator has also been added over one of the M.2 slots. This board received three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots. Another difference is the improved sound subsystem. The number of slots for memory modules on the two boards is the same – four each.
