In the second half of October, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is expected to debut. Regular RTX 3060 coming out later

The other day it was reported that NVIDIA is going to introduce the younger model of the Ampere generation video card, the GeForce RTX 3060, before the end of this year. In October, the company plans to start selling the GeForce RTX 3070, as well as the announcement of new solutions. As indicated by the resource VideoCardz, among them should be the younger GeForce RTX 3060 and/or RTX 3060 Ti. At the same time, the more productive Ti version will appear on the market first.

According to the resource, NVIDIA contacted its partners and announced that it plans to release the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti in the second half of next month. It is stated that the company ultimately decided on the name and abandoned the Super variant, replacing it with the Ti index.

According to the source, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti will be based on a stripped-down GA104-200 processor with 4864 CUDA cores, which is 1024 cores less than the RTX 3070 GPU. However, the rest of the card’s characteristics will be similar to the older model. GeForce RTX 3060 Ti will receive 8 GB of GDDR6 video memory with an effective frequency of 14 GHz and a maximum bandwidth of 448 GB / s.

The resource was unable to obtain information about the power consumption level of the reference sample GeForce RTX 3060 Ti but indicates that non-standard versions will have it about 40 W lower than the RTX 3070 model. According to VideoCardz’s assumptions, the total power consumption of the video card ( Total Graphics Power, TGP )  will be 180-200 watts. According to the source, overclocked partner solutions cost one 8-pin additional power connector, so they cannot consume more than 225 watts. It is possible that the reference sample will use the same configuration.

October is expected to be really hot. Indeed, in addition to NVIDIA video cards, we are expecting the announcement of new AMD Ryzen 4000 (Vermeer) processors based on the new Zen 3 architecture, as well as Radeon RX 6000 series graphics accelerators based on the RDNA 2 architecture.
