Earlier KamAZ stated that the truck was localized by 70%
After the updated (“sanction-resistant) KamAZ K5 truck was shown at the CTT exhibition, quite interesting details appeared: it turns out that a lot of its key components are not Russian at all, but Chinese.
KamAZ K5, a lot of key components are Chinese
For example, gearboxes and transfer boxes are from Fast Gear, axles are from HanDe, pneumatic equipment is from SORL, hydraulics are from Hyva. China also supplies fuel systems, turbochargers and electronics. Before the sanctions, Daimler axles, ZF gearboxes and Liebherr turbodiesels were installed on K5. It turns out that now the motor is Russian, and instead of suppliers of components from Europe, the Chinese came.
Recall that earlier KamAZ said that the K5 truck was localized by 70%, and that the company sets the goal of localization at 100%. It will be achieved, among other things, through the production of bridges in Kazakhstan, where a foundry will also appear for the production of cylinder blocks and cylinder heads for P6 engines.
