Large ventilation grill and multiple ports: Sony showed the back of the PlayStation 5

For a long time, Sony has shown the PlayStation 5 from all sides except the back. Users never knew exactly how this part of the console worked until the recent PS5 event for Japanese bloggers and media took place. On it, visitors were allowed to play on a console and take many high-quality photographs. In parallel, Sony decided to reveal more secrets of its console and published an official snapshot of the back of the PlayStation 5.

So, the back of the console is equipped with a fairly large radiator grille. It is probably related to the cooling system. It also houses a variety of ports – two USB (most likely USB 3.2 gen2), one Ethernet, and one HDMI (with HDMI 2.1 support). The power connector, of course, is also on the back.

What’s more interesting is the lack of a port for an additional SSD, which will increase the amount of available memory. The Xbox Series X has it on the back. Actually, this begs the question: how will external solid-state drives be connected to the PlayStation 5? Sony has not yet given official comments on this matter, although it has mentioned their support for a long time. Many PS5 users will probably want to get a second SSD, because, according to a recent leak, only 664 GB are allocated for games in the console.
