Magic The Gathering Arena Mobile Early Access Starts Jan 28 On Android

Studio Wizards of the Coast announced on its official website the release date for the version of its collectable card game Magic: The Gathering Arena on mobile devices running Android.

Recall that last fall, the head of Hasbro Brian Goldner promised that Magic: The Gathering Arena will appear on gadgets running iOS and Android in early 2021. As it turned out, the statement was only half true.

Mobile Magic: The Gathering Arena Early Access begins on Android this month on January 28th. The developers claim that the iOS version will be released before the end of this year.

The pre-release edition of Magic: The Gathering Arena Mobile will be cross-playable and will include all the main content (cards, formats) from the big Magic: The Gathering Arena, including the upcoming release of Waldheim.

All Play Store users with a suitable smartphone will be able to play Magic: The Gathering Arena Mobile. Currently, the list of supported devices is small, but expansion is planned by the end of this year.

Wizards of the Coast also shared information about the recommended system requirements for Magic: The Gathering Arena for Android:

  • OS: Android 6.0 (Marshmallow);
  • processor: Kirin 970, Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810;
  • RAM: 4 GB;
  • graphics API: OpenGL ES 3.0;
  • texture compression: ETC2.

For now, Magic: The Gathering Arena is only available on PC. On 2021 scheduled the premiere of the five editions of Magic: The Gathering of the standard format, including the mentioned “Kaldhaym” and crossover with Dungeons & Dragons.
