Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, has spoken out about the ongoing speculation regarding a potential cage fight with Elon Musk. Addressing the situation on his Threads account, Zuckerberg emphasized that he believes Musk isn’t genuinely interested in the idea and suggested that it’s time to move on from this topic.

Zuckerberg revealed that he had offered a real date for the fight and even Dana White, the prominent figure in the UFC, proposed to turn it into a legitimate charity event. However, Musk has not confirmed a date, citing surgery as an issue, and now proposes a practice round in Zuckerberg’s backyard. Zuckerberg made it clear that if Musk becomes serious about a real date and an official event, he should reach out, otherwise, it’s time to focus on those who are genuinely committed to the sport.

The tension between Zuckerberg and Musk escalated following the successful launch of Meta’s Threads, a major competitor to the X platform, previously known as Twitter. Threads, similar in concept to Musk’s X, gained an impressive 30 million users on its debut day.

Musk had earlier suggested that the fight between him and Zuckerberg would be live-streamed on both the X and Meta’s platforms, with Italy as a likely location. However, Zuckerberg cautioned netizens not to buy into Musk’s statements, indicating that the fight details will only be shared when Musk is genuinely prepared.

While Zuckerberg isn’t holding his breath for Musk to commit, he emphasized the importance of organizing the fight professionally. He expressed his desire to work with established organizations like the UFC or ONE to ensure the event showcases top athletes and creates an exciting experience for fans.

Musk responded to Zuckerberg’s post with a series of tweets, playfully suggesting he could visit Zuckerberg’s house to teach him a lesson if he’s truly eager to experience weight categories in fighting. Alternatively, they could wait for the arena in Italy to be ready for the showdown.

This friendly back-and-forth between the two high-profile figures continues to capture the imagination of the public, but as of now, it remains to be seen if this fight will indeed materialize. The focus for now is on ensuring the event, if it does occur, lives up to the expectations of fans and showcases the best in the sport.
