Meizu will only release flagship smartphones
Meizu has issued a press release hinting at the company’s plans for the smartphone business. It reports that Meizu has made steady profits with the launch of the Meizu 17 and 17 Pro smartphones last year, which are officially only sold in the domestic Chinese market.
According to the statement, the company plans to focus on launching flagship smartphone models. The Meizu 18 series is expected to be unveiled in the near future and the devices included in it will be the only smartphones that the company will release this year. The company also says nothing about its return to the international market, so the Meizu 18 and 18 Pro may only be available in the domestic Chinese market.
In addition, in addition to releasing smartphones, the company will focus on the production of wearable devices and smart home devices. The latter is marketed under the company’s recently launched Lipro brand, which currently includes a range of smart lighting fixtures ranging from $ 10 to $ 155.
Meizu says there will soon be new security-focused products under the Lipro brand. As for wearable devices, the company is expected to introduce the Meizu Watch smartwatch this quarter, which will run the Flyme for Watch operating system. The release dates for Meizu 18 smartphones and the company’s smartwatches are still unknown.
