Microsoft adds autofill fields to password manager Authentificator

Microsoft has released an important update for its Authenticator app, and now its users can autocomplete login and password fields. The update will debut including iOS and Android. Engadget reports this.

Microsoft

The update allows you to integrate Authenticator into the Edge browser, then sync saved passwords with the application and use them on other devices. The company also introduced an extension for Chrome-based browsers that has a similar feature for auto-complete and sync.

Authenticators can also import logins and passwords from CSV files and some other data management services. The company notes their development safety because Authentificator requires entering a password or performing a biometric scan before autocomplete. All data inside Authenticator is stored in encrypted form, and to access it, you need to pass two-factor authentication.

Microsoft announced this feature back in December 2020 and was testing it all this time. Apple recently released a Chrome extension that lets you store and use iCloud passwords.
