The browser will start up faster and consume fewer resources
Microsoft has introduced a major update to its proprietary Edge browser in the Early Access Program. For ordinary users, the stable Microsoft Edge 88 will be available in January 2021.
Microsoft Edge is about to get a huge update – vertical tabs and more
There are many changes planned for Microsoft Edge 88, but the most anticipated tab management innovations will delight users the most.
Firstly, the tabs can be arranged vertically rather than horizontally. By the way, the vertical mode of displaying tabs is now not provided in the dominant Google Chrome browser market.
Secondly, the work of inactive tabs will change. A new feature called sleeping tabs will improve performance by reducing the system resource consumption of tabs that have been left open for a long time without being used.
Microsoft will implement an accelerated browser launch – some of the processes will start immediately when the device is turned on. Also, the browser will start warning the user about “compromised” passwords.
