Now you can try to fix problem controllers at home yourself. Elite Series 2 controller repair kits range from $23.99 for button sets to $59.99 for PCB and motor assembly replacements.
Prices for the standard Xbox controller are lower, ranging from $19.99 for the top plate only to $34.99 for the circuit board and vibration motor.
Microsoft states that the warranty period for its components is one year. Along with spare parts on the site you can find instructions and training videos for repairs.
