Microsoft releases new build of Windows 10 for developers with further improvements to Start

Microsoft today unveiled a new build of Windows 10 Insider Preview for Developers (distributed via Dev channel). It has the number of 20180 and does not contain as many innovations as we would like. This is rather strange since there have been no major changes in developer builds for quite some time.

Last week, Microsoft released a new build of Windows 10 20H2 Insider Preview, which brings many features, such as an updated Start menu, previously only available to developers. In today’s build, a redesigned tablet mode for 2-in-1 devices was introduced, as well as a redesigned Start menu interface and an updated search box on the settings pages for standard operating system applications.

Some problems of previous versions have also been fixed. So, for example, we fixed an issue that prevented Task Manager from displaying the publisher’s name for UWP apps, as well as a bug that could lead to crashes when using the Alt + Tab key combination to switch tabs in a browser.

The assembly still contains many flaws. Some games from the Microsoft Store protected by Easy Anti-Cheat may not start, and the OS update process, as before, freezes for a long time when trying to install a new assembly. In addition, there are a huge number of less visible “bugs”, although the developer preview for this behavior can be forgiven.

Users registered with the Microsoft Developer program can experience a new build of Windows 10 by downloading it from the Operating System Update.
