Microsoft unveils March Xbox update: EQ, Auto HDR and FPS Boost controls, and more
Microsoft has announced the imminent release of software updates for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S. The Xbox Accessories app will also receive an update on consoles and PCs (Windows 10) in honor of the launch of the Xbox Wireless Headset.
The Xbox Accessories update will release on March 16th. It allows you to adjust EQ, bass boost, auto-mute sensitivity, mic usage tracking, and mute indicator brightness. These features are primarily targeted at the Xbox Wireless Headset, which will sell the same day, March 16.
In February, Microsoft announced the ability to control Auto HDR and FPS Boost in supported games on Xbox Series X and S. In March, these options will be available to all users.
Also, on Xbox consoles in the profile settings, you can manage subscriptions and track all important information regarding them, including the date of the last and next payments, the subscription duration, and other data. It will be possible to change the linked payment card and view the available subscriptions in the same menu.
The system for installing games on Xbox consoles will also be changed after purchasing it from the Microsoft Store. When the update is released, you will be prompted with the “Select components to install” option. The Controls menu will show you which parts of the kit are best for your console.
Finally, Microsoft announced an upcoming update to the Xbox mobile app. This month, a limited number of testers will have access to the list of achievements, as well as a menu with detailed information on them and notifications about the opening of the achievement. This update will then be released to everyone.
