Most affordable OnePlus Nord smartphones won’t get major updates after Android 11
OnePlus has always been known as a company that provides high-end smartphones for little money. The new budget phones of the Nord family correspond to the same philosophy. However, the Nord N10 5G and N100 are reported to receive only one major Android update.
And speaking with AndroidCentral, and OnePlus spokesman confirmed this information, saying that it will guarantee users of its most affordable devices only one update to the Android version. This is somewhat depressing, especially considering the company’s policy towards its other smartphones. So the N10 and N100, which hit the market running Android 10, will stick with Android 11, which is already pre-installed on the flagship OnePlus 8T, which hit the market earlier than the N10 and N100.
In addition, the company said its budget devices will only receive security updates for two years, but did not mention how often they will come. There are suggestions that not very often. Unfortunately, with this move, OnePlus has made its fairly balanced affordable phones less appealing to many users.
