Mozilla Firefox for Android has changed a lot in appearance and gained new features

Firefox for Android is one of the more popular alternatives to Google Chrome. The browser has been downloaded over 100 million times from the Google Play app store. The latest update brings Firefox a significant redesign, as well as performance and functionality improvements.

In a blog post, Mozilla announced that the latest update has been dubbed Firefox Daylight, symbolizing a new beginning in the history of the popular Android web browser. One of the most noticeable changes in the interface is the transfer of the address bar to the bottom of the screen. This very unusual innovation helps to use the browser with one hand, even on smartphones with large diagonal displays. The app also has a picture-in-picture feature, and switching between dark and light themes has been greatly simplified.

Among other things, support for various add-ons has been significantly expanded, which favorably distinguishes Firefox from the same Google Chrome. Tabs can now be organized into collections, which makes the application screen much less cluttered.

Unfortunately, users have left a lot of negative reviews about the browser. The most common complaints are the sudden termination of support for some extensions and stability problems. We will remind that earlier Mozilla laid off 250 employees, due to a decrease in income caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
