The other day, a diagram appeared on the Web , depicting part of the AMD Navi 4C GPU. Very complex in its configuration. According to early rumors, AMD has already abandoned the idea of releasing as part of the next generation of flagship graphics cards, which means that if this is true, Navi 4C will not hit the market. And now we can roughly estimate what such a GPU could look like.
User Everest posted schematics of this GPU based on recent leaks, and user creper9000 created GPU images based on them.
It’s worth saying right away that, even if the original diagram that got into the Network is correct, it showed only part of the GPU, so the current renders show what a GPU might look like. In reality, the configuration could be somewhat different.
Navi 4C renders have appeared
As you can see, the number of chiplets is at least ten, but not the fact that this is the maximum. The original news said that there could be 20 of them.
As for the configuration, next to the main crystals, called AID, there is a large multimedia crystal and an I / O crystal. SED units are integrated into each AID. Reports suggest that a single AID can hold up to three SEDs, giving AMD the ability to include up to nine SEDs in each package.
If such a GPU does come out, it will probably be the most complex GPU on the market. But, perhaps, it was its complexity that made AMD eventually abandon it, at least for a while.
