Next Generation GeForce RTX Board Image Reveals NVIDIA GA102 (Ampere) Chip And Power

Today, news about new GeForce 30-series graphics cards is pouring in from a cornucopia. The next image of the printed circuit board of the future Zotac gaming video card demonstrates how large the GA102 GPU turned out to be relative to the board in which it is used. The resource VideoCardz drew attention to this.

Recall that according to earlier leaks, the GA102 chip should be used in the GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080  models. According to the source, the image shows a non-referential printed circuit board of the Zotac RTX Trinity series video card. The picture shows a  very close arrangement of GDDR6X memory chips to each other, as well as to the graphics processor itself. Such a dense arrangement may indicate their potentially high heating. In addition, the image shows the tightly spaced elements of the 20-phase GPU power subsystem.

Also striking is the lack of NVLink contacts in this GeForce RTX 30 series model. According to the VideoCardz resource, this fact may indicate that we have a GeForce RTX 3080 board in front of us. However, the presence of 12 memory chips speaks more likely in favor of the flagship RTX 3090. Again, the use of exactly 12 memory chips is still in question. Presumably, one of them is located under the GPU, but the image quality does not allow us to make an unambiguous conclusion on this score.

Of course, we are talking only about the render, and not about a real photo of the board, so it’s too early to do an in-depth analysis based on what we saw. Images of the Zotac GeForce RTX 30 series video cards based on the Ampere architecture previously hit the Webby mistake of the manufacturer itself. It is expected that the announcement of the new series of gaming graphics cards will take place on September 1st.
