This is logical for many reasons.

The Nintendo Switch sells just fine. The console, which initially many analysts and developers did not particularly believe in, is now the leader of the current generation in terms of sales growth.

Next Generation Nintendo Switch May Get Platform Created by Samsung and AMD

Now the company makes no sense to release a new console, but in the end, this time will come. And there is a chance that the new Switch will receive a very unexpected platform.

Recall that now the Nintendo console uses the SoC Nvidia Tegra X1, which previously survived a certain modernization for the updated Switch. The problem is that Nvidia has not been producing such single-chip systems for the consumer market for a long time, and the available solutions can hardly be adapted to the needs of a portable game console.

The source believes that Nintendo will most likely have to look for another platform provider for the next-generation console. And this supplier could be Samsung. To clarify Samsung, which by then will use in its SoC graphics cores created on the basis of AMD technologies. The first such solutions may come out next year.

In favor of this version, there are several more factors. Firstly, AMD has considerable experience in creating semi-custom solutions for consoles, and in this case, together with Samsung, the company may well create SoC for Nintendo, and it is not yet clear which of the two giants – AMD or Samsung – will be the main player in this couple. Secondly, using a GPU with AMD technologies (or with a ready-made AMD architecture), Nintendo can make the creation of game ports for the new Switch much easier than now.
