Not her battleground: Google asked not to include her in legal war between Apple and Epic Games

Google is trying to prevent US District Courts from bringing it into a legal battle between Apple and Epic Games. The Internet giant has sent a letter to the judges, including Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, who wants to tie the lawsuits to each other.

Google has opposed this, saying that between it and Apple are enough differences and there is a “small risk of inconsistent results”“While Android and iOS are competing to attract application developers and end-users, Google and Apple use different business models, agreements and policies support of competing ecosystems ”.

As a reminder, Epic Games has filed lawsuits against Apple and Google after the two companies removed Fortnite from their app stores. The decision was prompted by the introduction of direct payment into the game, which avoids the platform’s 30% commission on all transactions.

Notably, Google claims that no legal entity in the company has yet received a formal complaint in this case. After it is delivered and the court schedules an initial hearing, Google plans to take action against Epic Games “based on circumstances unique to Android

Epic Games has previously filed a petition to restore Fortnite to the iOS app store while litigation continues.
