NVIDIA announcements will continue in October. GeForce RTX 3080 is expected with double the amount of video memory

At the very beginning of the month, NVIDIA introduced the first new-generation Ampere video cards – these are the older models GeForce RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 3090. Of course, this is by no means a complete assortment, and according to network sources, further novelties await us in October.

A well-known source with the pseudonym kopite7kimi on Twitter even before the announcement of the gaming Ampere said that NVIDIA was preparing a GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card with 20 GB of memory. This graphics card looks quite logical against the background of the flagship GeForce RTX 3090, which is equipped with 24 GB of GDDR6X memory.

However, during a presentation earlier this month, NVIDIA only unveiled a version of the GeForce RTX 3080 with 10GB of GDDR6X memory, leaving a big gap between it and the flagship. Therefore, the source does not renounce his words and believes that in the future NVIDIA will still introduce a 20 GB version of the GeForce RTX 3080, and this may happen very soon.

It is reported that NVIDIA may announce an improved version of the GeForce RTX 3080 at the very beginning of next month. On October 1, the head of NVIDIA, Jensen Huang, has a speech scheduled, within which he may announce some new video cards, and the new version of the RTX 3080 looks like a very likely option.
