First and foremost, following AMD, this latest driver provides a quality gaming environment in the hotly anticipated action RPG Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt RED. In addition, it brings optimizations for the release version of Minecraft with support for ray tracing, which was recently released under Windows 10. Also in the driver control panel, NVIDIA added an element for setting the frame rate of the background application on the 3D page, and also added the function of the colour fidelity mode (Display> Page desktop colour settings).

But that’s not all – NVIDIA engineers also fixed a bunch of problems:

• On some tracks in Forza Motorsport 7, a black stripe appears on the curb;
• when setting the refresh rate above 100 Hz, the colour format switched from RGB to ycbcr422;
• when SLI was running on three monitors with G-SYNC active, the system was locked when the game was started;
• the NvAPI_GPU_GetGPUInfo () function on the GeForce RTX 3000 returned the wrong number of tensor cores;
• MPC-HC video player crashed when playing video with a width of 1088 pixels;
• at 5K resolution, it was not possible to set the colour setting in the NVIDIA Control Panel.The company is also working to fix other known issues:
  • Stuttering and stuttering when launching Steam VR games
  • Power consumption of Ampere graphics cards increases in standby mode on systems with G-Sync monitors with high refresh rates;
  • after applying Freestyle filters, a blue screen crashes when pressing [Alt + Tab] while running Vulkan applications;
  • video playback stops when scrolling down the YouTube page;
  • Pascal laptops with high refresh rate display randomly switch to 60Hz while gaming.
  • performance drop occurs in Vulkan when using G-SYNC and switching from fullscreen to windowed mode using in-game settings;
  • in cloning mode on a GeForce RTX 3070 at a resolution of 2560 × 1440 and a frequency of 144 Hz, the video card always operates at maximum performance;
  • video overshoot when playing 4K video in full screen on a 2560 × 1440 HDR monitor on NVIDIA Turing and Ampere cards in Windows Movies & TV Player.

  GeForce Game Ready 460.79 WHQL is dated December 9th and is available for download in notebook and desktop versions with 64-bit Windows 7 and Windows 10 from the NVIDIA website or through the GeForce Experience app. It supports video cards of the GeForce 600 family and above.
