NVIDIA partners to offer custom-designed Ampere gaming graphics cards in September

NVIDIA itself has already launched a countdown to the expected announcement of the first video cards with the Ampere architecture for gaming use, which is scheduled for the last day of August. Sources now report that not only reference design video cards will go on sale in September, but also products from NVIDIA partners of their own design.

In the minds of the public, the idea has already become firmly established that some models of the GeForce RTX 3000 family of video cards will receive a controversial reference design with a V-notch on the PCB and two fans directed in opposite directions. Opponents of this concept initially tuned in to purchase video cards made by NVIDIA partners, who could offer video cards of a more traditional layout.

The TweakTown website, citing its own sources among video card manufacturers, reports that video cards of the Ampere generation of alternative design performed by NVIDIA partners will have time to enter the market in September, almost simultaneously with the reference options. For an industry that has yet to fully recover from the pandemic, this is a great achievement. Often several weeks passed between the appearance of reference video cards and the start of deliveries of partner versions, and the waiting period could be accompanied by a shortage. As a rule, the appearance of video cards of alternative design simultaneously with reference ones serves as an impetus for lower prices, which are tightly controlled by NVIDIA at the first stage.
