Outdated versions of Google Pay will lose some important functions in April

Late last year, Google released new versions of apps that allow users to interact with its proprietary payment service across multiple platforms. New versions of Google Pay for Android and iOS and the web version of the application were tested in the United States. Now it became known that users of older versions of Google Pay will not conduct transactions starting in April this year.

According to reports, the ability to send and receive funds using older versions of Google Pay for Android, iOS, and the browser will not be available from April 5, 2021. This is stated in the notifications that Google began to send to users who use outdated applications to interact with the payment service. The funds that will remain on the account by this time can be used using new versions of the Google Pay application or transferred to a bank account by contacting the service support.

The Google post also said that older versions of apps would no longer display the history of user actions and completed transactions. Although many important features of older versions of Google Pay will become unavailable, there are no plans to phase out these applications completely. Users will still have access to a digital wallet, credit and debit cards, loyalty cards, and more. Older versions of Google Pay can be useful since updated applications allow you to interact with a payment service from one device at a time.
