New Memory Modules at Computex
Patriot brought several new products to Computex, including a prototype solid-state drive without a DRAM buffer and as yet unnamed. According to the manufacturer, it will be able to show speeds up to 12 GB / s in read mode and 10.5 GB / s for writing. Maxiotek MAP802A-F1C will be used as a controller, and the storage capacity will be 1, 2 or 4 TB.
Viper PV553 is a more traditional drive, it uses a buffer but requires active cooling. However, the heatsink/fan design is very thin. The volume is 2 or 4 TB, sequential read and write speeds are 12.4 GB / s and 11.8 GB / s, respectively. For the 2-terabyte version, the DDR4 buffer size is 4 GB.
Patriot Showcases First PCIe Gen 5 Bufferless SSD and New Memory Modules
At the same time, the company did not forget about drives for PCIe Gen 4, adding a new version of the 2021 model: Viper VP4300 Lite is built without a buffer, provides speeds of 7.4 GB / s and 6.8 GB / s, but does without a heatsink. Possible volumes are from 500 GB to 4 TB.
Of the new RAM, the company showed overclocking Viper Xtreme 5 modules with an effective frequency of up to 8000 MHz. They will be available in versions with and without RGB lighting.
Of the atypical devices, Patriot showed a tower CPU cooler. There are no details about him.
