Google wants to try to further improve the search for apps and games within the Play Store. How? Using the appropriate filters positioned just below the search bar and which can be selected directly by the user.
The distribution of these new buttons was noticed by 9to5google colleagues and would be part of a new test phase limited to a rather limited number of users who received a server-side update. The screens acquired from the source show us only four filters, but the figure is likely to increase with the passing of the months.
The buttons currently distributed by Google allow you to filter content based on:
- News (New);
- Number of stars received in reviews;
- With “Editors’ Choice” badge.
The search results on the Play Store had already received a change in late March when the Mountain View company had decided to also introduce the total app download count. For the moment it is not clear when Google will decide to distribute this news to multiple users.
