Steam will update automatically
Valve has added support for Sony PlayStation 5 console controllers for the Steam gaming platform. All Steam users will now be able to play using DualSense.
PlayStation 5 DualSense Controller Now Available On Steam For All Users
The feature was previously tested, and now support has been added to the Steam client’s stable version. In the list of new features of the Steam update regarding input methods, the following is noted:
- Added support for PS5 controllers for Steam Input, including trackpad, gyroscope, lightbar, and vibration functions.
- Added directional swipe mode for use with trackpads and gyroscope
- Improved support for games that use raw input for controllers
- Fixed Xbox Series X controller showing up as 2 separate controllers.
- Fixed controller operation for some games with built-in Chrome.
Steam will update automatically. If you do not want to wait or the automatic update did not happen, then go to your client, select “Steam”, and then “Check for updates on the Steam client …”.
