Court documents from a case involving the Microsoft-Activision Blizzard deal have already revealed the expected release date for next-generation consoles. Now they have found an indication that the PlayStation 5 Slim will be released later this year.
PlayStation 5 Slim confirmed this year and Pro version sometime later
Actually, numerous rumors about this have already been said. This is the same version that will be devoid of an optical drive, but this drive can be bought separately and connected. Moreover, the documents reveal the price of such a console – just $400, just like the current PS5 Digital Edition.
Since the PS5 Slim will eventually replace the two current versions, we can state that the console will conditionally become cheaper. Although some users will still buy an optical drive separately.
The document also emphasizes that a PS5 Pro is expected to be released later, but there is no date. Recall that Microsoft has already stated that it is not going to release an improved version of the Xbox yet, and the current Series X, as it were, has already become that intermediate generation in advance.
However, this does not mean that the conditional Series X Pro will not be released in a couple of years.
