PlayStation 5 will not be able to launch some Ubisoft games on PlayStation 4

Ubisoft, in a note about the Ubisoft Connect service, talked about how backward compatibility and cross-platform features will work in the publisher’s games. As it turns out, the PlayStation 5 will have problems with some of them.

UbisoftConnect

Ubisoft previously announced that it was merging Uplay and Ubisoft Club services into a single platform called Ubisoft Connect. It offers cross-platform functionality in games, including save transfer and multiplayer modes.

Save transfer capabilities will be fully functional in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Riders Republic, and Hyper Scape. But Watch Dogs: Legion and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege only support them within the console families.

However, the most interesting information is covered in the paragraph on backward compatibility. Ubisoft has indicated that all of its Xbox One games will run on Xbox Series X and S. Meanwhile, PlayStation 5 is having difficulty playing some of its PlayStation 4 titles. The games listed below will not run for backward compatibility on the new console:

  • Assassin’s Creed Syndicate ;
  • Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy Pack;
  • Assassin’s Creed Chronicles India ;
  • Assassin’s Creed Chronicles China ;
  • Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Russia ;
  • Risk;
  • Star Trek Bridge Crew;
  • Werewolves Within;
  • Space Junkies.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has not yet commented on this information.

As a reminder, the PlayStation 5 will go on sale on November 19.
