Panasonic’s new VR headsets feature 2.6K x 2.6K OLED displays
The microdisplay has found application Kopin ColorMax patented technology to provide accurate color reproduction (color space sRGB coverage exceeds 100%). Duplex OLED structure allowed to obtain a high luminance – more than 1000 cd / m 2. The display works with a 10-bit color representation. The contrast ratio is over 10,000: 1.
Panasonic VR Glasses are the world’s first Ultra High Definition High Dynamic Range (HDR) VR glasses, delivering “stunningly lifelike images.” Thanks to the 1.3-inch displays and the Pancake slim optical system, the glasses are compact and lightweight, so they are comfortable to wear for a long time. The design provides for the adjustment of the interpupillary distance and the diopter adjustment to be used by people wearing corrective glasses. The glasses are equipped with a high-quality audio subsystem.
