Redmi will present “affordable” Snapdragon 888 smartphone in the second half of January
At the disposal of a network, sources were information about the timing of the announcement of one of the most inexpensive smartphones on the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor: we are talking about the Redmi device, which is being prepared by Xiaomi.
The fact that under the Redmi brand will debut an “affordable” smartphone based on Snapdragon 888, it was reported in early December last year. Then it was said that he will be included in the Redmi K40 family. New information confirms this information.
The named series of devices are said to include the basic version of the Redmi K40 and the modification of the Redmi K40 Pro. The latter will receive a Snapdragon 888 chip, which, recall, combines eight cores with a clock speed of up to 2.84 GHz, an Adreno 660 graphics accelerator and a Snapdragon X60 5G modem.
As for the standard model Redmi K40, it is credited with using the not yet officially presented MediaTek processor with support for 5G cellular communications.
It is reported that the Redmi K40 smartphones will be officially presented on January 20. Actual sales are likely to start at a later date.
We add that most of the flagship devices that will be released this year will use the Snapdragon 888 platform. However, the MediaTek assortment will also include new chips for high-end smartphones.
